The Marcus King Band Live at Horizon Records in The Bohemian Cafe on Saturday, December 5th

December 05, 2015 at The Bohemian Cafe in Greenville, SC.
Showtime is 4:30

Our 40th anniversary celebration is getting more and more packed with great live music. We’ve already got LARRY HOSKINSON-ROCKWELL doing his John Lennon thing on Dec 7th, the amazing RANDALL BRAMBLETT on the 12th, and WEBB WILDER on the 18th, and we’re throwing in a performance by THE MARCUS KING BAND on top of all that on Dec. 5th!
Marcus & co. have just released their SOUL INSIGHT album (in-stock now on CD at Horizon) on Warren Haynes‘ Evil Teen Records, and the band is touring hard in preparation for another album next year. We’re thrilled that we (and you) get a chance to see one of the best blues guitarists around tear it up onstage in The Bohemian Cafe!

Marcus is only 19 years old, but he studied at the knees of local luminaries Marvin (dad) and Bill (granddad), and he plays like an electric bluesman twice his age. But Soul Insight is just as heavy on great songwriting as it is fiery solos. The songs range from jazz to funk to brokenhearted balladry, and Marcus’ rough-hewn, soulful voice will remind you a good bit of his new boss, Mr. Haynes.

So come on out and soak in the blues, and be sure to pick up the new album next door at Horizon!
